I had a HORRIBLE time when I was doing research for Form 6. Basically nothing came out and it was such a waste of time, running around from one menteri to another. It was ridiculous and I thought I was the only who had this problem. So, here I am typing a post about it just in case someone really needs information about it and doesn't know where to find it.
I'm sure kids from private schools have their own reasons to switch back to a government school. Be it financial issues, parents or their own consent. My was a mixture of everything.
Ok, before I start with my experience, I would like to add a disclaimer, just in case.
DISCLAIMER : All these were from my OWN experience so it might not fit your OWN bill.

First thing first, you'll only get to enter Form 6 earliest by the start of July and latest probably end of July or August. The ministry of education will not let you enter any earlier because we're the minority and they have to handle the majority (Government school kids) first. In the first month of Form 6, a lot of students will wish to change streams or schools and it takes them a month to settle most things.
You'll get your results by march and you'll have until May/June to hand in your appeal.
I actually when to the counters (Forgot which Education branch) for information. They gave me the wrong information. He told me that I needed to buy an exam slip from BSN and key in all the info into their website. DON'T BUY!!
That's actually the exam pass that private candidates have to buy to sit for their exams.
The fella gave me the wrong info and kept on saying 'Yes yes yes' *waves fist in anger*
- Find a school you want to enter (Hopefully that school still has space to accept you)
- Go find the teacher in charge of the form 6
- Talk to the person and get him/her to know about your situation and ask for guidance and stuff
- Ask for the transfer form for form 6
- Pass up the form to one of the education branches
- Wait. The lady at the counter told me that I had to wait for news from the mass media -____-
- People will call you up for confirmation and you can get your slip
- You enter form 6
That's what I did lah and it's probably faster than going to Ministry of Education and getting the wrong information ALL THE TIME. It was ridiculous, they kept sending me and mom to all the wrong departments. -_____-
Patience is needed when you're doing the transfer and I hope this rough explanation helped :)
